Prologue: Remak in yellow again!
August 2, 2005.

The 80th year-old Tour of Hungary started with a prologue in Queens’ town, Veszprém (West-Hungary). The route was almost the same as in 2004. Cyclists had to go through the historical downtown and through one of the symbols of the town, the Viaduct. The stage included difficult phases with cobbles. Its aim was to introduce riders, and define the first cyclist, who should wear the yellow jearsey (for overall leader) during the first stage.

Overall winner of last two years, Zoltan Remak won the opening stage, so he has the right to wear yellow jersey on the first stage. „I tried to be cautious, specially after the first curve, where I almost fell. But I tried to do my best on slopes” - Remák said after the official stage-closing ceremony.
Best Hungarian was Tamás Lengyel, finished at ninth place.
Prologue – organised in the morning – was followed by the first stage in the afternoon. Details are going to published in a separate news.
