Stage 1: Olympic champion won on Tour of Hungary
August 2, 2005. First stage of the 32nd Tour of Hungary was a circle-race in downtown of Balatonfüred. Introductory lap of the race was completed by István Kolber, Minister responsible for Hungarian tourism, and his time result was overthrown soon by cyclists on the real race. Members of German national track-cycling team lead the peloton, and went the pace.
The winner of the stage was Robert Bartko (double olympic champion from Germay), and his team-mate Christian Grasmann has taken the yellow jersey for best place in overall.
The overall winner of last two years’ tours, Zoltán Remák is on fourth place after prologue and first stage.
